In this time of Covid and limited travel, I forgot how much it helps to get out of my routine, meet new people, have new experiences. I come back refreshed and restored, feeling recharged from my Italian holiday.

So, thank you for a beautiful experience and lots of new, pretty things hanging in my closet, but really, the true essence of the trip for me is coming back with a fresh enthusiasm for life.

You think you create a tour or shopping experience—and yes—on a surface level you are—but the essence of what you do is much deeper. And that is the lasting gift you make.

Everytime we travel with Giovanna to Italy (10 times now!) we’re struck by how much more our experience is than just going through a “best of” checklist. What Giovanna has waiting in store for us really is better described as journeys of discovery, eyes wide open with wonder and feeling fully alive. And rather than being a stranger in a strange land, Giovanna just makes you feel like you belong…as if you are returning home with her.

Our interactions with everyone we meet on tour are warm and welcoming, as if we’re longtime friends. We’ve gone on almost all of DMI’s tours, including multiple trips to the incredible Piedmont. Each and every encounter Giovanna arranges, at every special place we’re taken to, we’re allowed to sincerely share the hearts and souls of these passionate, beautiful people. In turn, our DMI journeys leave us connecting with our own hearts and souls in ways that are so very impactful, meaningful and lasting.

We’ve always thought this is how travel should be and with Giovanna and DMI it is! It’s why we love DMI so much and why we have made so many visits to Italy with Giovanna.
